Join Us October 17: Lynwood Unified Celebrates 75 Years at 8th Annual State of the District

Lynwood Unified will mark 75 years of excellence at the 8th Annual State of the District at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, October 17, when Patrick Gittisriboongul, Ed.D., will give his first address as superintendent, sharing his vision for optimizing schools, expanding technology and innovation, and preparing students with real-world experiences that lead to college and career success.

The program – hosted by the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation and livestreamed at lynwoodedfoundation.org – will highlight the progress of the Lynwood High School Imperial Campus rebuild project, celebrate the District’s 2025 Golden Bell Award-winning parent engagement program and provide an update on facilities optimization.

While honoring 75 years of accomplishments, the event will also spotlight the future of Lynwood schools, showcasing plans to infuse technology, innovation and artificial intelligence into learning while providing students with hands-on, personalized pathways and experiences alongside industry professionals. Career Technical Education students will also showcase their work, from engineering and culinary arts to photography and biomedical sciences.

This celebration kicks off Lynwood Gives, the Foundation’s annual fall campaign, which raises donations to support college scholarships, teacher grants, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs, and assistance for the Lynwood Unified Food Pantry.  This year’s campaign will run from October 17-24.

Please consider investing in the future of our Lynwood scholars by donating to the Foundation – 100% of the proceeds will go toward enhancing educational opportunities. Thanks to the community’s generosity, the Foundation raised over $114,000 for scholarships and emergency grants and $30,000 in educator grants last year.

Join the celebration and watch the livestream at www.lynwoodedfoundation.org.
