Lynwood Unified School District recognizes the importance of preparing students for the 21st century. Not only does our Dual Language Immersion Program prepare students with the college and career readiness skills they need to compete in a globalized society, but it also gives them the gift of a second language. Students in this Program develop as bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural learners. The added benefit of a second language allows them to become productive contributing members of society.
LUSD offers a 90/10 Dual Immersion Program is held at Will Rogers Elementary and currently is available in grades K-3. The target language is taught through content, not as a separate course of study. The percentage of the Target Language decreases as the percentage of English increases.
