Interns/Tutors

Interns/Tutors are at-will positions exempt from the classified service in a Merit District.  Interns/Tutors must be full-time students and can only work part-time. Tutors should be interviewed and selected by the site/department administrator, then sent to the Classified Personnel department for processing: fingerprinting, drug testing, and tuberculosis screening.

For Tutor or Intern processing, the Classified Personnel department must receive the following:

  1. OFFICIAL transcripts to demonstrate full-time status.

  2. A completed Intern/Tutor/ Student Worker Application.

Once the information above is received, then the candidate can be processed. Once the candidate clears the fingerprinting, drug testing and is Board-approved, the Intern/Tutor may start to work. A Classified Personnel will notify the candidate and the site/department once all clearances are obtained.
