hello and welcome to Firebaugh High School my name is with someone this and I'm principal here Fireball Fireball is a place where students come to find their voice find their interest and prepare for the future endeavors we hope to see you here next year at Firebaugh High School lower everyone my name is Jose Ochoa. Marquay Firebaugh High School this campus is known as the nests and I want to be the first member of our staff to welcome you to the nest these are extremely exciting times not just for you before us as well are we hope that at the end of this message you decide that Farwell High School is a place for you these next four years of your lives are excited these are going to lay the foundation not just for you weather for your future family that you have now you have several choices what makes us different hero Marco a Firebaugh high school because of our size were just under 2,000 students you have a personal education is dedicated specifically here at Firebaugh high school we have a variety of programs designed specifically for you here in this room the band room with Miss Brock she's currently developing our our Band program are Marching Band currently has 30 students in it and we're hoping that that size in the next two years we are never satisfy here at Firebaugh High School in terms of what we've accomplished yes we celebrate but we push on and figure out what it is we could do more to serve this community are video production class so we have next door in our video production class when you are a freshman be able to learn how to edit film shoot commercials by the time you start your second year you're able to be in front of the camera shooting video just like this for sports program starting in 2022 we will be moving into the Suburban League which is an excellent move on our behalf which allows for parents to actually see you playing your sports in the evening locally as opposed to having to drive a couple hours away for our weight room our weight room is the heart and soul of the sports program we've currently invested over $15,000 to update or wait it is still the art I would compare to something you would see a 24-hour fitness and again why we invested in this we feel that you're worth it and you're important and that it's worth developing our sports program also on the horizon sports program we're hoping by the end of the 2023 School will be nationally recognized our program our Administration is fully dedicated making sure they are Esports program is competitive not just our surrounding schools but the top schools here in Southern California and I'm excited as you should be to to be part of the I want to end by thanking you all for being here I want to remind all of you here at Firebaugh high school you'll have a personal dedication of every one of these staff members to your success I hope you make the right choice and come here to the nest thank hello graduating class I know high school can be a scary transition but it's also very exciting we're so happy that you're going to be joining us next year I remember during the time that I was transitions High School I was very scared very nervous but I got to see my older brother and see go through it for me so I saw the amazing things that they were doing having fun and learning a lot so we hope that that experience we can simulate for you here at Fireball we have our Flagship program the IB diploma program we have a p we have Avid we have Project Lead the Way we have college courses all with the aim of helping you grow at this point I know that you might not know what you want to study yet but that's that's exciting that's it's an opportunity to take advantage of everyday I have to offer so that you can discover what it is you want to do here at Fireball work we're trying to get you to become a lifelong learner to be curious about everything so with that in mind we're Guided by the IB learner profile IB learner profile is a list of 10 character traits that during your time here we hope that you grow in so become that effective Communicator that knowledgeable person the risk taker all those amazing things are going to help you fulfill the IBS Mission by bees mission is to help create the World by using all of these 10 traits of Ivy believes and so does everyone here at Fireball believes that you are going to be part of that change to make this world a better place in this system you are able to participate in horses in all subject areas you're able to conduct research at the college level where you choose the subject and you work with an expert in the field you also take a course called theory of knowledge or Tok that course is probably the most interesting courses we have here in that course you learn to question everything you you asked how do I know that this is true where does knowledge come from who said this was knowledge it's going to make you walk out of the class everyday questioning everything also participate in Cass c a s stands for creativity activity and service the IB believes that you should find balance in your life shouldn't all be about school you should also be creative you should also be physically active during exercise and be healthy and you should also provide service to your community how does the IV go help you at College aside from preparing you for college and also earns you college credit if you complete and earn the IB diploma you'll be eligible to start off College as a sophomore so imagine the time and money Savings in college in the ivy do colleges believe that it's the best preparation for it people at Harvard at Princeton and top countries around the world except it Tybee is a worldwide organization so if you want to go study abroad to another country you can do that and your IB scores will go with you other programs that we have here at Fireball we have the AVID program that have a program is a college readiness system that helps prepare you and guide you application process for colleges as well as for financial aid our program here has been very successful at getting students to apply and to get a minute to four year universities we also have a bit advanced placement program which also offers advice horses where you can also earn a college credit in all kinds of subjects ranging from math-science several Sciences computer science as well as the Arts we also have Project Lead the Way or pltw courses of courses are Career Technical education courses and we have biomedicine and computer science as well as engineering the last program that we have we have concurrent College enrollment which means you're going to have the opportunity to take college courses on campus you'll be able to earn high school credits and college credits at the same time Mount another wonderful resource that we have here at Fireball High School is the College and Career Center not a College and Career Center we have a dedicated counselor who is supportive and and she's amazing at guiding you and helping you realize all your car dreams as well as helping you apply for scholarships for financial aid and to make sure that you end up where you want to end up after you leave here at Fireball now we understand that transition to high school is very scary get a very exciting time for you so we hope that all of us here at Fireball will be able to guide you and help you and support you above all we want to enjoy this incredible journey and at the same time learn lots and participate in activities clubs everything you have to offer that's going to be part of the incredible journey and the incredible memories that we hope you can make here at Fireball see you next year go Falcons
