Lynwood High School has an Esports program for students that is making the gamers of today the game-changers of the future!

Jonathan Martinez I'm a teacher here at Lynnwood High School in teaching for about 4 years and I'm also the sports coach so I believe embedding Esports into the curriculum nowadays is pretty important just because the whole reason we have a Kirkland's store to in skins crazies and develop these life skills aside from all the social skills they can also start developing leadership their captains involved they have to be in charge of not just helping their teammates develop as players and as human beings but they're also communicating with other coaches making sure hey is the game ready and can you get with other captains with Esports how to being a no-name out I think companies and organizations are starting to see that colleges are seeing that as well now but they're seeing the opportunities of what I could offer but more as the competitive nature that it has so because of that you know college is going to want the best of the best Esports players so now the opportunity that students have is there getting scholarships you know like play versus just gave out $500,000 worth of scholarship big reason like people are involved in clubs is you have to be in community and with these words they're part of the community to the whole idea of Eastport coming to school is now we have another Avenue for students to be a part of a team to feel like a family we have a night gaming and with Esports we have people from different backgrounds you know they could be from different cultural background they could be far different programs that are all star players in fed program you have doing to identify as LGBT I think you do regardless of your gender regardless of where you come from or who you are you know you're in a positive judgement free zone and that's why I really like about gay me hi my name is Jesse najera and I am part of Lynwood High and I am part of the East sports program about the East sports program is the cooperation and teamwork skills that happens inside the group if fascinates me how a group of people come together creatine is work together this program has helped me in school by motivating me to do more work in school East we're just helping out to the school by giving me more leadership skills more cooperation skills more coordination skills and what organizational skills and that's going to help me out right now going as well and it's going to help me out in the future my name is Christian a Santa Maria and my favorite thing about e-sports is the connection we make with people and when you work together and learn from each other and helped immensely and I I really am that is the one I still have given us this opportunity to actually get our minds off of all the things that have been happening lately in Lynwood High School activity has been communicating with people that I haven't talked for a while I used to struggle making friends and since we're all the virtual I sent to be feel comfortable Timothy's person and get to know them more if friends with them and then be for the community I want to say that any gender you are or how you identify you can play the game games and join the community and doesn't matter who you are what you are you can still playing the game and playing video games you want to compete in the next level come to the high school join our night gaming club and try out for our Esports competitive where you can play against other High School what's in the region and state and possibly get a scholarship or full ride so the college joined at Lynnwood he's 14 or nights become kings and queens
