Our approach is rooted in the belief that it is our moral obligation to provide all students with unfettered, differentiated support and access, so they can confidently pursue their personal and professional goals.

Our Purpose

The Equity, Access & Instructional Services Department is committed to building an empowering learning environment where every student feels seen, valued, and heard. We work to remove barriers to learning, celebrate student diversity, and promote inclusive, high-quality instruction across all schools.

What We Do

We support students, families, and educators by leading and coordinating key programs and services across the District. Our areas of responsibility include:

Equity & Student Support

  • Cultural Proficiency Training

  • Character Education and Curriculum

  • Title IX and Civil Rights Guidance

  • Equity Plan Development

  • Intentional supports for targeted student populations: African American, Foster Youth, Homeless, English Learners (EL), LGBTQ+, Asian Pacific Islander students

  • Parent, Student, and Affiliated Groups

  • Leadership Academies

  • Ethnic Studies Courses

Instruction & Curriculum

  • District Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
