The primary goal of reclassifying English Learners (ELs) is to ensure that students have acquired the linguistic proficiency needed to thrive independently in mainstream academic settings. Reclassification represents a significant educational milestone, signaling that a student can confidently engage with, comprehend, and succeed in grade-level curriculum without specialized language support. Ultimately, our objective is to celebrate their growing bilingualism while ensuring they are fully equipped for long-term college and career success.
