Special Education

Special education is designed to support students with disabilities by providing individualized instruction and services that meet their unique learning needs. At Lynwood Unified, every student who qualifies for Special Education services receives an Individualized Education Program (IEP)—a personalized plan that outlines how we will support their academic, social, and developmental growth.

In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), our District ensures that all eligible students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). This means that students are educated alongside their peers as much as possible, with the services and supports they need to succeed.
