Lynwood Community Advisory Council (LCAC)
The Lynwood Community Advisory Council (LCAC) is a group of parents and school representatives that informs the Mid-Cities Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) on matters related to special education within the Lynwood USD.
LCAC aims to inform and educate community members, thereby developing a broad base of community support and participation. This enables the committee to advise SELPA and the District in all matters concerning the identification and educational management of individuals with exceptional needs.
Responsibilities of the LCAC include:
- Informing the administration of Lynwood USD and the Special Education Department of the development of the local comprehensive plan;
- Assisting in parent education and recruitment of other volunteers;
- Encouraging public involvement in the development and review of the Local Plan;
- Supporting activities on behalf of individuals with exceptional needs;
- Assisting in parent awareness of the importance of school attendance
All LCAC meetings will be held on Fridays at Lugo Elementary School, located at 4345 Pendleton St., Lynwood, CA 90262. All LCAC meetings start at 9:00 am. The 2025-2026 LCAC meetings and workshops are as follows:
