LUSD Special Education Policies & Procedure Handbook
This handbook is a practical guide to how special education is provided in Lynwood Unified School District. It outlines how we meet state and federal laws that ensure students with disabilities receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
Designed for both staff and families, the handbook explains legal requirements and how each part of special education should be implemented in our schools. While professional development and support from special education leaders will continue, all employees are responsible for following the procedures outlined here.
Use this handbook as a go-to resource to ensure we provide consistent, high-quality services that help every student succeed.
Please report issues and outdated information or contacts in the Policy Handbook pages to our Special Education Director, Dr. Hector H. Marquez-Mesa, at hmarquez@mylusd.org
