Vision & Mission

- Collaboration with educational partners,
- Continuous supports that promote lifelong learning and success.
Mission
The mission of Lynwood Unified's Community Schools is to improve the lives of all students and their families by removing barriers to learning and focusing on the whole child. We will ensure equity, access, and justice for all students, by providing a safe space that empowers each student to reach their full potential and actively contribute to a thriving and connected community.
The 4 Pillars of Community Schools
1. Expanded and Enriched Learning Time and Opportunities
We offer before- and after-school programs, enrichment opportunities, and summer learning to help students explore their interests, develop new skills, and grow academically and socially.
These programs are designed to spark creativity, boost achievement, and promote whole-child development.
2. Integrated Student Supports
We connect students and families to vital services—such as mental health care, social-emotional learning, physical health resources, and counseling—so students can thrive in and beyond the classroom.
Our teams include case managers, licensed clinical social workers, SEL specialists, and student support analysts who work side by side with educators and community agencies.
3. Collaborative Leadership and Practices
We foster shared decision-making among educators, families, students, and community members to drive school improvement and ensure that services meet real needs.
Our schools are grounded in teamwork, transparency, and a shared vision for student success.
4. Family and Community Engagement
We build strong, trusting relationships with families and community partners through regular communication, culturally responsive outreach, and programs that invite meaningful participation in school life.
Whether through family workshops, wellness nights, or leadership opportunities, families are valued as essential partners in student success.
