California Public Records Act Request
As a public agency, Lynwood Unified School District complies with the California Public Records Act (CPRA), which ensures access to public records unless a legal exemption applies. These exemptions may include documents that:
-
Violate an individual’s right to privacy (e.g., certain personnel, medical, or student records)
-
Compromise the District’s ability to function effectively (e.g., investigative files, litigation records, or preliminary drafts)
Please note that the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a federal law and does not apply to California public schools. Any FOIA requests submitted to Lynwood Unified will be treated as CPRA requests.
