Career Technical Education

Career Technical Education (CTE) at Lynwood Unified provides students with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to excel in today’s competitive workforce. Students are introduced to a variety of elective courses in middle school that lay the foundation for future career pathways in high school and beyond.

Starting in middle school, students explore engaging electives in areas like technology, engineering, and digital media — laying the foundation for future college and career pathways.

At the high school level, students can specialize in in-demand industries through a variety of CTE pathways, including:

  • Biomedical Sciences

  • Computer Science

  • Culinary Arts

  • Engineering

  • Film and Video Production

  • Performing Arts

  • Photography

We go beyond traditional classroom instruction by offering students real-world experience, college credit, and industry-recognized certifications — helping them build the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

Through our partnership with CalAPS (California Advancing Pathways for Students), students can explore even more career fields and gain hands-on experience across a wider range of industries.

Lynwood Unified also collaborates with local businesses, civic organizations, and higher education institutions to create relevant and responsive CTE opportunities that prepare students for both postsecondary education and meaningful careers.

Whether through hands-on projects, internships, or real-world applications, Lynwood Unified’s CTE programs empower students to explore their passions, gain invaluable experience, and graduate with the skills to thrive in the careers of tomorrow.
