Dual Enrollment
At Lynwood Unified, we believe college and career success should start in high school. That’s why we offer transformative dual enrollment opportunities through our partnerships with Compton College and the National Education Equity Lab—helping students earn free college credits and gain valuable real-world experience before graduation.
Compton College Early College Program (AB 288)
Launched in 2020, our AB 288 Early College Dual Enrollment Program allows students to take free college courses through Compton College—with many completing enough credits to earn an associate degree (AA) by the time they graduate high school.
Courses count toward both high school and college, and students receive personalized support to thrive in a college-level environment. This program prepares students to enter a four-year university as juniors or head straight into a high-demand career with college credits in hand.
Equity Lab: College Courses from Top Universities
Lynwood Unified also partners with the National Education Equity Lab, a prestigious nonprofit that offers Firebaugh and Lynwood high school students with college-level courses for credit from top universities, including:
-
Columbia University
-
Cornell University
-
Howard University
-

Since its launch in 2021-22, the program has supported more than 130 students from Lynwood and Firebaugh High Schools.
