At the heart of our Strategic Plan, approved by the Board of Education on December 7, 2023, is the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive in an environment that fosters innovation and inclusivity. We are implementing initiatives that enhance learning and teaching experiences and ensure that these opportunities are accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance. Shaped by a wide representation of voices and perspectives – from students and staff to families and business leaders – this plan is the culmination of 18 months of extensive research, community consultation and the dedicated efforts of our educators and staff, all united by a common vision – to unlock the full potential of every student who walks through our doors.

The Portrait of a Graduate is a framework that outlines the essential skills, knowledge, characteristics and behaviors an LUSD student should have upon graduation, including being effective communicators, mindful collaborators and empowered citizens who are self-aware and self-directed, and innovative problem-solvers.  

This framework guides the Lynwood community in prioritizing the development of these qualities in its students to ensure their success in a rapidly evolving world.
