Our District

Founded in 1950, Lynwood Unified School District has proudly served generations of students in southeast Los Angeles County, building a legacy of academic excellence, equity, and innovation. Nestled within a vibrant 4-square-mile community, we proudly serve more than 11,200 students across 17 award-winning TK-12 schools, along with adult learners at the Lynwood Community Adult School.

Lynwood Unified is a place where students thrive, families are uplifted, and educators lead with heart. Our mission is simple but powerful: to build leaders and unlock brilliance in every scholar we serve through high-quality learning, wraparound supports, and meaningful opportunities inside and outside the classroom.

The mission of Lynwood Unified School District, the model urban school district, is to ensure each student fearlessly achieves their highest academic and personal aspirations while contributing to a diverse, global society through an evolving system distinguished by:

Lynwood Unified is consistently recognized at the local, state, and national levels for our innovative programs, student success, and collaborative spirit:

  • All 17 LUSD schools have earned PBIS Awards, reflecting our districtwide commitment to safe, supportive, and inclusive environments.
