Superintendent's Message

July 2025

It is a true honor to serve as Superintendent of the Lynwood Unified School District, a community I am proud to call home and have seen grow over the past decade into a district grounded in equity, innovation and deep community pride

As a first-generation Asian American and the son of Thai immigrants, I know firsthand the power of public education to transform lives. That belief has guided me through 24 years in public education, including the past four years as Lynwood’s Assistant Superintendent of Technology and Innovation.

In every role, I’ve been grounded in one core belief: students come first. As Superintendent, my mission is to ensure every student in Lynwood receives a high-quality, inclusive education that prepares them not only for graduation, but for a future filled with opportunity, purpose, and lifelong success.

From launching our AI Taskforce to leading districtwide digital learning and transformation efforts, I’ve led with a bold vision to modernize education, close access gaps, and empower students and educators with cutting-edge tools. These efforts have positioned Lynwood as a statewide and national leader in educational innovation. I was honored to be recognized as the 2024 Los Angeles County Cabinet Member of the Year for this work.

As Superintendent, my mission is to build on this momentum. My 100-day plan is rooted in listening and learning, with a strong focus on collaboration, transparency and innovation. I’m committed to partnering with our families, staff and community to build on Lynwood’s proud history while setting a bold, student-centered vision for the future.

Together, we will continue to uplift and empower every student, ensuring they graduate from Lynwood Unified not only with a diploma, but with the confidence, skills and agency to shape their own future.

I look forward to walking this journey with you – grounded in shared purpose and an unwavering belief in what’s possible for every Lynwood student.

Patrick Gittisriboongul, Ed.D.
