Young Mathematicians Shine Bright at Lynwood Unified’s Annual Mathathon Competition

March is all about the numbers as the annual Mathathon commenced for third-, fourth--, fifth- and sixth-grade students across Lynwood Unified’s 12 elementary schools. The young achievers put their wits to the test in head-to-head competitions of mathematical prowess amid an enthusiastic gathering of families, cheering staff and lively mascots.

The Mathathon is a cherished District tradition uniting families, igniting school pride and nurturing a passion for math in Lynwood's youth.

Students in third- and fourth-grades competed on March 6, while fifth- and sixth-graders went head-to-head on March 13 at Firebaugh High School. The winners were:

3rd Grade:

  •  1st Place: Lindbergh Elementary School
  •  2nd Place: Will Rogers Elementary School
  •  3rd Place: Mark Twain Elementary School

4th Grade:

  • 1st Place: Mark Twain Elementary School
  • 2nd Place: Abbott Elementary School
  • 3rd Place: Wilson Elementary School

5th Grade:

  • 1st Place: Will Rogers Elementary School
  • 2nd Place: Abbott Elementary School
  • 3rd Place: Wilson Elementary School

6th Grade:

  • 1st Place: Will Rogers Elementary School
  • 2nd Place: Lindbergh Elementary School
  • 3rd Place: Helen Keller Elementary School
