Hardy for joining us for this town home and I too I won't take a moment to acknowledge out of our school board members for their ongoing Support Division and for their ongoing. set the temperature to the next slide please also before I explode with the slide presentation want to take a moment to acknowledge all of our dedicated committed employees thank you for everything that you do to support our students our families as well as each other when this pandemic hit we didn't know how long this going quickly establish some critical areas of support because we need these were going to be important and so one of the first things we did as we established the social emotional support through the health hotline or we had live licensed clinical social workers to support our students and our family over 600 50 families were supported through these services and then we also could have done this work without that collaboration of our health collaborative Partners makes life please what are the things that we also did is the mule solution show in partnership with the local churches including Greater Emmanuel Temple Church Reformed Church La La Food Bank Foundation Lynnwood rotary mastering hope and so many others we were able to increase the support service to our food pantry as well as provide meals for over eight thousand families up to 15000 meals a day in terms of the technology we need this is also a critical area of need so we're glad to share with you that we have purchased over 7,000 Chromebooks over 3,000. Enterprise ship with Lynwood City we are expanding Wi-Fi throughout the city to make it more accessible to our students make slime and so I know that there are a lot of questions out there about when we reopen schools and so do you want to share with you is that all of us know that children are best served when they're here with us and like we miss them this year we will reopen when it is safe to do so in the meantime we have learned from the spring and summer and today our County will share with you some important updates regarding our safety protocols distance learning and what we are doing as a school district after we hear from them Warehouse opportunity for some discussion we look forward to answering your questions and again thank you for your patience and your good evening Lynnwood Kim Unity thank you for joining us tonight I hope you are all staying safer in it and and or in a cool place during these hot days that we currently are in first I've going to start off to talk a little bit about technology here that we're doing in Lynwood Unified for our kids and our staff we have made a commitment to provide each student with the lab with a laptop for the 2021 school year we have purchased 3000 hot spots for students in need we've also purchased over 1,800 touchscreen Chromebooks for students with special needs we have monitoring software for our class in support we have also developed a distance learning support groups at each School site next slide please cleaning and sanitizing in all of our strict school facilities before during and after school will be the main focus of our maintenance operation and Transportation Department training has been done with our staff on the proper sanitizing equipment and material in materials to use to make sure our students are safe and clean and staff as well when they're at our school sites when we do come back we have also purchased personal protective for all of our staff and we have them for our students as well when they return to our school site we've also installed sneeze guard at all of the district and School site main areas where there is action with the community as well next life please daily deep cleaning and sanitizing will take place in all of our restrooms are corridors our lobby areas and high-touch areas like your candles elevator buttons restroom areas Etc we will replenish all of our sanitizing gels and wipes at each school and facility each day our custodian will provide additional support you as list with sanitizing the school areas during during before and after school and during times where students passed between. As well next slide please this is a picture of what are class what one classroom will look like when our students come back our desks 6 feet apart and less deaths in the rooms are students are safe at all times Well in our classroom next slide please this is a other example of a classroom what it will look like when student come back with the desk 62 parts of our students can learn in a safe environment flexlite place under the guidance of the state the district will he to the public health reopening guidelines one students return to our school site students will be required to wear masks all staff will wear a mask and PPE equipment / the Department of Health classroom will be set up to practice 62 part and a social distancing we will check temperatures as students arrive and we will test deaf as well we will provide opportunities for students to wash their hands and we will also be disinfecting all of our facilities and services on a daily basis next by please when we arrive at school or work no meal distribution food will be distributed to students on a daily basis however it will not a day will not be as it was in the olden days where they were in the cafeteria each and every day we will have a drive-thru stop distribution pick up opportunity where family were family will receive one day's worth of breakfast or the next day lunch and super snack for that day for their students the distribution X will be 32 115 and our first day will begin on Monday the 24th which is our first day of school we will offer our service touchless our codes will be sent home to each household within the next two weeks distance learning learning learning the fan of the families will bring the barcode for each to their students that will be scanned when picking up Meals all meals will be picked up from one site next by please students do not to be present to collect their meals on distribution days as long as a parent or Guardian can provide the barcode or a student ID if parents do not have the barcode or you might need and there are no student in the car than me then it is 3 Tola total for the walk up or the car families can send someone else to pick up their meals as well if they are not available to pick up the meals during the distribution pick the fine they will just need to be able to present this barcode at the time to receive the meals next page this is a this is a list of where all of our distributions will take place they will be at free site except for Lynwood high and Vista those students can pick up their meals at at at a site of their choice Lakeside good evening everyone my name is Shawna Jenkins and I'm assistant soup with Educational Services and I like to share the schedules with you for ECE through 12th grade the Eazy-E schedule for distance learning our day begins from 8 to 8:30 with family communication and Outreach and assessment from 9:30 to 11 there will be synchronous live lessons and whole group instruction and then there is a one-hour break for lunch from 11 to 12 cancel to return at 12 for another life lesson whole group and small group on various days throughout the week and then from 1:30 to 3 there will be a combination of family communication Outreach assessments an observation and makeup sessions 101 time assigned by teacher to students and families to hear to explain the TK Kinder first through sixth grade schedule is proud principal of Washington Elementary mrs. Jenkins mention my name is misirlou so I am a very proud principal Sharon The Lynwood Unified School District and it's such an honor to serve all of our language fan and of course our students allow me to share with you the TK and kindergarten schedule for the fall distance learning are teachers will be provided with planning time Monday through Friday from 8:45 to 8:45 our students will be engaged in lessons English language arts synchronous lessons from 8:45 to 9:45 students will be provided with a recess break for 15 minutes they will receive synchronous instruction in mathematics for 1 hour as well as synchronous instruction in English sandwich development for 45 minutes please smell parents that on a weekly basis overall minutes for English language arts synchronous instruction students 600 minutes as well as for mathematics again this is on a weekly basis synchronous instruction meaning live instruction and interaction with your child's teacher ELD we are looking at 120 Minutes weekly of synchronous instruction once again live instruction with your child's teacher also students will be provided with a 45 minute lunch break every day in the afternoon from 12:30 to 3 or students will be engaged in enrichment activities related to their learning the afternoons will also give teachers opportunities to establish office hours for you to be able to connect with them student Outreach teachers will have opportunities to plan and grade levels for us to have opportunities for professional development this is where you will have a chance to connect with your child's teachers for any questions or any concerns that you might have Netflix please Mouse 1st to 6th grade is very similar you're able to see that teachers get planning time in the morning we will have synchronous lessons in ela in Eld and after lunch students will also receive asynchronous learning in the areas of science and social studies please smell parents that are teachers will be posting their instructional schedules in their Google Classroom which you will have access to as well as your students any questions that you have regarding the schedule please reach out to our teachers to the administrator and we will be very happy to answer your questions and in the end explained how the weekly schedule will work thank you Miss reduced bill for that wonderful exclamation I am proud to energy mrs. Anna Gonzalez principal of the Lynnwood High School who will explain the middle and high school schedule unmute missing Palace good evening news Community my name is Miss Gonzalez doctor thinking stated and I am the principal Lynnwood High School I am also aligned with alumni from here to explain the schedule for middle and high school students every morning Monday through Friday from 8 to 8:30 the students will have time to engage in self-care activities if it provides that we provided it is time so they can help anything that needs to be. I know some of them have younger siblings so they can help with a younger siblings and also just take time to engage in a self-care activities so they are prepared to start the day during this time teachers will Easter questions on Monday we begin with all. There shortly. Classes begin at 8:30 every. Is 40 minutes and they have a lunch break in between on Monday they see every. Short. They're done with the classes at 12:55 and then they have a lunch break and their lunch break is from 12:55 to 1:35 and at that point the has time to then work on school class school work we will also be providing engaging a enrichment activities also tutoring and teachers will have office hours in the afternoon so is important to remember that when the school the academic time is over in terms of class time that the students are still engaging in school related activities that they're finishing their work that they are setting up office hours appointments that they are taking advantage of any tutoring available as well as enrichment activities so it's important to stress that the school day is not over after lunch then. rest of the week is block schedule the students who will then go to first second and third. On Tuesday there any minute. During this time teachers are expected to have a license we we are requiring teachers to have two hours of live instruction per. On per week so they will be expected to Wingate everyday with the teeth with the the school day for academic. And at 12:40 again students have a lunch break and then have that opportunity doing to continue working on class work finished assignments that were not complete it during class time during the synchronous Time Life sessions and again reach out to teachers you are also able to talk to teachers between 1:20 and 3 and then on Wednesday they then Seaforth. And the schedule repeats on Thursday and Friday I also forgot to point out that Monday on Monday teachers will also be reaching out to students to live sessions teachers are required to post their schedule on Google Classroom so make sure your students have access to their Google class and that they check the schedule for the week the purpose of the Monday schedule is to make sure that the teachers check in with all students at the beginning of the week make sure that they know what's required for the rest of the week and they get started all the information they need for the week like the elementary school students high school and middle school students will engage and 600 minutes per. Ferrara from the Department of County of Health testing is a requirement for us to open schools back up in the early spring and we found out this morning are currently searching waiting for guidance from the state with should be available to us tomorrow and we will update the community on next week okay is deep cleaning happening throughout the district deep cleaning is going on throughout and it will go on once the students come back as well before school after during periods proper cleaning supplies for staff and students been purchased yes they have been purchased can the district develop a focus group parents to inspect School cleaning before we reopen you can definitely do research and what schools are claimed part of our sanitation and safety is to ensure that once it is disinfected and claim that we have our students go in and Archie just go in and cohort keeping them safe secure so we can look into that on our multiple task forces and involve parents and some criteria that has to be met by the state of California another question is why are there not enough books for students why did they not receive crayons or other supplies are district office ordered supplies for every student in Lynwood Unified School District and they should be handed out during our test book distribution if you have not received your books or supplies from your old school please contact your school as those supplies were delivered to school supplies online does Lynnwood have a plan for essential working parents to be able to send schools to school like other districts we are currently work you know that plan there are several guidelines of procedures and things we need to have in place and we are currently putting those things and place we also have to have a robust training of our staff in order to ensure that we need all safety guidelines and so we will update you as soon as we have the go-ahead to make that happen will the district schools provide basic training for parents yes or a program family specialist have a list of Workshop our parents as well as our digital coaches and those workshops include how to login to Google Classroom how to upload assignment how to have conversations via Google classroom and how to respond to the teacher and get work turned in or any other questions you may have and those will all be posted on the website will there be leniency for students families who will not be able to meet the school schedule yes currently we are in the process of long-term independent study every School site has short term long term as an independent study is for longer than 20 school days and those forms are available at every School site if you need it for please contact your school site do it out and then are acting coordinator of distance learning programs will facilitate the intake process for you will the schools provide basic Tech train your parents yes we have text available and we have workshops and one-on-one sessions plan for parents through are a family engagement specialist and those are all the questions at this time unless we have more questions that will bring us to the end of our town hall tonight
