students have options that all of our students believe in themselves and know that they can continue their education Beyond high school and so with that Lynwood unified is K get it to working with families to help you establish a college savings account for your children and so through collaborative efforts with the state of California and California scholarshare be sure you more information thank you all for joining this virtual meeting this morning to celebrate our students celebrate our staff and just celebrate the Linwood Public School the members of the limited partners Educational Foundation are really excited to have a positive impact on our students and have a positive impact on our Renwood School mission is to provide financial support for programs that enhance Lynnwood students education and since our Inception in 2015 we've raised close to $500,000 in and I think we've done a great job I think in the end in raising a we can do a lot more are fun raised money to support College scholarships we raise money to support college tours to provide teachers grants to support this team programs support health and wellness initiatives and then most recently during this covid-19 pandemic to support the community that were hard IBM the covid-19 dollars in scholarships to our seniors we also provided over $150 in gift cards to families that were hard-hit by the covid-19 pandemic so are we want to continue do this work work cited about doing this work it's important to support the students is important to support the staff important to always support our public schools and the foundation is dedicated and I'm committed to supporting the students and staff in the community as Lynnwood I just wanted to say hi you are interested in helping us continue to questions of Uncertain times we are honored to stand with the Lynnwood Community as they stand with us collaborating to create a educational environment for students by teaming up with the city of Lynwood and its leaders we have also been able to serve more than 10,000 families in need with fresh healthy food options through the district food pantry program families can receive pick up and go packages of cheese Dairy kid produce meat and snacks simply by appointment at local locations we are determined to stand with our neighbors during difficult times and the food pantry provides. basic needs that keeps families going and allow children to focus on reaching their potential through the states farm and family program be the LA county regional food bank we have also been able to provide the city of Lynwood with the addition of Fritz Meals on Wheels program that serve seniors as well as those in need and disturbed by faith-based institutions the food pantry not only represent an important resource for those in need but in the Port Alliance between Partners were committed to serving those around us these challenging times have taught us that Community is our greatest resource we are Lynnwood when faced with a global pandemic our district would like technology to channel new way to inspire Learners during school closures for educators often step out of their comfort zones and Linda to Virtual instruction to continue igniting the flame of student achievement from YouTube vlogging to reading sessions on Facebook live we share both assignments and dance moves in our commitment to not only bring your garden but joy to our children each of our District 20 schools operate the social media account that continually provides updates and encouragement we have also worked harder than ever to remove all technological tactical stay in the way of success our district has provided more than 10,500 laptops of families many at drive-thru distribution sites are provided a safe environment also purchase more than 3,000 hotspots access and work with internet providers to serve the community at an affordable cost this time distance learning has also given us the opportunity to improve our school to these future open we recently began the construction at Lynnwood High School on a building Improvement that allows us to also access all structures at the limit high school campus Farwell High School students will receive a new state-of-the-art stemlab beginning in Fall 2021 this building will expire Young Learners to pursue success in science engineering and medical Fields many of our campuses have received new playgrounds new secure interests and improvements that will enhance our learning environment when we return to our campuses for on-site darling will be energized by new tools that means even greater results hello everyone I wanted to just once again thank you for joining us today for our annual state of the district at a time
