Lynwood High senior Ivan Vega joined Superintendent Crosthwaite to discuss his role in "The Risk is Still Real" campaign that encourages the community to practice safe habits and get the COVID-19 vaccination.

yeah I think you guys were having me my name is Ivan Vega and I'm a senior at Lynnwood High School I guess today I'm going to talk about a campaign that recently participated in I'm too kind of encourage other Youth and and students to keep following like CDC guidelines for the pandemic student advisory council with superintendent Deborah Dorado so we had a few of us is about 35 and listen to counsel so few of us were selected to go participate in a l a county photo shoot where we kind of just went to Cal State LA and took some photos and videos that we shared online and social media and on the County's website to kind of encourage students to still follow CDC guidelines and where their masks specially since everything's starting to open up and if I'm starting to get back to me important to you know follow some some of the guidelines to protect ourselves and others and families about why it's important to receive the back even after yoga to be open-minded about it and and keeping into consideration those people who are around you you know your closest friends your closest family members I'm fully vaccinated myself yeah that was that was such a girls with me I went with my grandma and my parents and it was just so fun we feel so so much happier and it just makes us feel safe and it also makes us feel happy. but protecting those around us and and kind of slowing down the spread of covid survey could come back to some type of normal normal see I think one of the biggest obstacles is mental health and and trying to find that stability but then yourself I think it's kind of hard to know it's hard enough to go seek out there a therapist but it gets a little harder when it's not as accessible so I think making kind of like services for mental health possible would be amazing and also probably adding more stuff and and resources and College and Career Center I think I'll be really helpful because a lot of students in other kind of including me yeah kind of stuck and confused with the college process or what we're going to do after high school after we get our diploma I think those two areas I'm Clyde and create event to help her are very crucial I think the pandemic has really shown a lot of personal struggles that we all have whether it's at home outside of school or in school you know a lot of us are kind of struggling to keep up with school work and with all of our classes and then dealing with pandemic and I personalize you know making sure our families are safe and healthy so I think it kind of really showed that especially with since most of us are you know low incomes by another loan company you know shopping 225 money to stay afloat and I'm paying for the next rent so I think it kind of showed how more about us outside of school and and the little challenges with no obstacles
