Dual Enrollment Program (AB-288)

Lynwood Unified’s AB 288 Dual Enrollment Program is a transformative initiative designed to accelerate students’ educational journeys and provide them with the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. Through our partnership with Compton College, and soon Cal State Dominguez Hills, students from Lynwood and Firebaugh High Schools can take free college courses, gaining valuable experience and advancing their academic pathways.

Since its launch in 2020, the program has allowed students to complete general education courses, earning enough credits to enter four-year universities as juniors. This opportunity has already proven to be life-changing, as evidenced by our first cohort of graduates who proudly earned their Associate degrees while receiving their high school diplomas.

With plans to expand and offer even more opportunities, the AB 288 program continues to empower students to pursue higher education and career goals, breaking down barriers and setting them on a path to success.
